The Score (Off-Campus #3) by Elle Kennedy

26085501
He knows how to score, on and off the ice.

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over.

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

Dean, Dean, Dean. I felt like I had to wait FOREVER to read his book. I have been a fan of this series since the beginning. I read the first one not long after if came out and immediately put the next book on my pre-order list. I love all of the characters in this series, they just pull you in!

When I first saw the summary that Dean was going to be paired with Allie I was a little worried. Allie had always been linked with Sean in the first two books, they were meant for each other (or so I thought!).

Dean and Allie fit so well together. He was able to bring out the care-free side of Allie and she was able to curb his man-whore ways. I loved their playful banter and the way their characters truly were two halves of a whole. And of course the sex was amazing. Why wouldn't it be, with all of the "practice" Dean has had? Haha.

One thing I love about Elle Kennedy is that she is always able to incorporate humor in her books and oh boy did this one have some doozies. The break in scene, anything that has to do with Winston and of course Summer! I really want to read Summer's story, I hope that is something in the works. That girl is a hoot!!

Five stars for Elle Kennedy, another smash hit!

Lily, you predictable perv. I knew you’d open this email faster if I tempted you with a glimpse of JT's “PP”. Well, put your pants back on and grab some bubbly because I have much better news to share.

I GOT A JOB!

As of tomorrow, I’ll be the new executive assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs. I am SO excited, but there’s one itty bitty problem: I won’t be Lorena’s assistant. I’ll be working for her older brother, Julian.

I know what you're thinking- "But Jo, what’s the problem?"

Google him. Now. He’s the man in the fitted navy suit whose face reminds you that there’s hope yet for this cruel, ugly world. Keep scrolling…Do you see those dimples? Yup. That’s the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning.

Lord, help us all...

XO,
Jo

This book was absolutely amazing! I swear my little fan-girling heart is beating like crazy as I think about this book.

Julian Lefray is everything you could want in a hero - tall, dark and handsome. Oh la la. He's kind, funny, a hard worker and he loves Jo. What more could a gal want?

Lately I have been reading a lot of books where the heroine really made me angry and it nearly ruined the book for me. This was not the case with this book! Josephine aka Jo was a very head-strong heroine who wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty in an effort to make something of herself. She had a dream and she did everything she could to make it true. Brava!

Lily, Jo's best friend, is awesome and I can't wait to read her book. I can already tell its going to be a roller coaster!

Now, all that being said, why didn't I give the book a 5 Star review? The end felt a bit rushed to me. There was so much build up in the beginning of the book between Julian and Jo and then all of a sudden they decided to give into their desires and sleep together. The next thing you know Julian realized he's in love with her, Jo gets her dream job and the book is over! What happened in between all of that? I need more!!!

All in all though, great book! I will definitely be reading it again!

DNF!

I got this book for free on Amazon and decided to give it a shot since I have come across a lot of free books on Amazon that turned out to be absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, that is not the case with this book.

I have tried reading this book for the last 6 weeks and every time I start I almost immediately stop. I like the premise, the setting, the characters are likeable but there is something missing. This book did nothing to keep me interested and draw me in. It was okay but not something that makes me so engrossed that I don't want to do anything but read.

I'm currently at 12% and don't intend to finish. I know some books have slow starts and need to be given time to introduce things but after 5 chapters there should be something going on in this book to make me want to continue reading.

Maybe in the future I'll go back and give this book another chance but for right now I just can't.

Drantos (VLG, #1) by Laurann Dohner

26085501
For most, a plane crash means the end of life. For Dusti Dawson, it’s just the beginning…

Dusti and her sister Batina survived the crash, thanks to a couple of brothers who are equal parts menacing and muscled. She’d be grateful…if they hadn’t turned out to be delusional kidnappers, who believe Dusti’s grandfather is some monstrous halfbreed creature bent on murder. Turns out Vampires, Lycans, and Gargoyles do exist— and they’ve been crossbreeding to form two hybrid races. Drantos, the man Dusti can’t stop lusting after, is one of the most dangerous of all.

VampLycans Drantos and Kraven were sent to eliminate a threat to their clan. But when that threat turns out to be mostly human women, clueless of their lineage, plans change—especially after Drantos gets a taste of Dusti’s blood. Now, he’ll die to protect her. Even if that means walking away from everything he knows to keep her at his side.

Is her strong desire for Drantos reason enough to endure danger coming from all sides? Or should Dusti cut and run the first chance she gets?

Anyone that knows anything about my reading habits knows that I am a huge fan of Laurann Dohner. I love her books; they are an automatic go-to for my to be read pile. When I saw this book available for pre-order months ago I was so excited to read something new from her.

The VLG series takes us on a completely new adventure and I loved it! I'll be honest, the book did not have the fastest start and the first few chapters didn't exactly draw me into the book but once you go past that it was non-stop action (just as most of Mrs. Dohner's books usually are!).

Drantos was a dreamy, sexy, alpha-male with a kind, romantic side. I loved him. I wonder where I can find one...

Dusti did piss me off at some points, I don't agree with everything she did or her reasoning behind things but in the end she grew on me. And I love her and Drantos, they compliment each other so well.

It comes to no surprise to me that I enjoyed reading this, Laurann always publishes great reads. If you're looking for a new paranormal romance from a consistent author check this out!
